Cone Radiology introduces the latest and only NewTom VGI-Evo Cone Beam CT to Auckland and New Zealand. 
The NewTom VGI-Evo is a specialised scanner which captures a series of 360 images in a single 18 second scan. From this, 3D images, including primary reconstruction images in multiple planes are produced.

These high quality images assist the specialist to form an accurate diagnosis and management plan for their patients. 

The NewTom VGI-Evo Cone Beam CT uses only 10% of the radiation a conventional CT scanner uses and better still the scanner automatically adjusts the radiation dosage according to the age and weight of the patient. Children receive up to 40% less radiation than adults during a typical scan.

A NewTom VGi evo scan accurately shows characteristics such as the presence of teeth or fractures, bone density and height, or root shape and tilt.


When carrying out orthodontic treatment, whether for aesthetic purposes or when managing pathologies, Cone Beam CT technology with 3D image acquisition can produce a full array of images, including panoramic, teleradiography and 3D images.


2D and 3D imaging of the upper extremity provides excellent views for diagnostic and surgical palnning purposes.
